30th Annual Great Greenbrier River Race

April 30, 2016 - 3:00 AM

WHERE

8th Street, Greenbrier River, and Greenbrier River Trail - Marlinton, WV

Course

Run 3 miles along the Greenbrier River Trail and 8th Street in Marlinton, West Virginia.

Paddle 4 miles down The Greenbrier River by canoe or kayak.

Pedal 10 miles on The Greenbrier River Trail, first riding South, then turning around and riding North, back to 8th Street in Marlinton where you will cross the finish line.

Entry Fees

Early Bird registration will begin on Friday, January 15, 2016 and will run through Monday, February 15, 2016.  Early Bird rates are $45.00 for Solo, and $42.00 per Team Member (up to 4 on a team).  NOTE: IF YOU HAVE TWO PEOPLE PARTICIPATING, AND BOTH WANT TO DO THE ENTIRE RACE..RUN, PADDLE, AND PEDAL...YOU ARE CONSIDERED SOLOS, NOT A TEAM.  TEAM MEMBERS MUST SPLIT UP ON THE RACE, EACH TEAM MEMBER CANNOT RUN THE ENTIRE COURSE!!!!!  Registration February 16 - April 8, 2016 will be $50.00 for Solo, and $47.00 per Team Member (up to 4 on a team).   Please register online, or mail your payment to Greenbrier River Trail Association, PO Box 203  Marlinton, WV 24954.

We welcome all ages, the young and the young at heart!  This is a family friendly event.  All age levels and all skill levels are welcome to come join in the fun!!

Team Categories: Youth (16 and under); Male; Female; Coed; Family;  Master (all 50+);  Senior (all 60+); Challenged Athlete

Charity Information

The Great Greenbrier River Race is a Fundraiser for The Greenbrier River Trail.  The proceeds of the race help to maintain and upkeep The Greenbrier River Trail. 

More Information

You must be registered by April 8, 2016.  All racers must sign a liability release at packet pick up, or on race day in order to participate in the race.  Parents must sign for children under the age of 18.  There will be a mandatory race meeting prior to the race at 10:30 a.m. at The Gazebo in Marlinton.  The race will begin promptly at 11:00.  

 

The Pocahontas County Archery Team will have a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, April 29, 2016 at The Marlinton Elementary School.  Proceeds to benefit the Archery Team.
