More Information

In conjunction with the Smoke on the Water Chili Cook-off, this race is an official FestivALL event on Saturday, June 20, 2015. In 2014, over 270 runners between the ages of 8 to 78 participated in the run and raised over $26,000 that was used within our community to provide for education and screening measures for colorectal cancer. This year, with your support, the CAMC Foundation hopes to significantly increase the amount of people screened. The race will be chip timed.

We are pleased to announce our 2015 Run for Your Life race chairman, Chris Stadelman, a lifelong West Virginian who currently serves as communications director for Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin. Chris has been diagnosed with cancer twice in his life, and received treatment at CAMC both times. In 1991, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease and was treated by Dr. Steven Jubelirer. After eight months of chemotherapy, he was declared cancer-free. That remained the case until the summer of 2014, when he was diagnosed with an unrelated colorectal tumor. He started chemotherapy treatment at CAMC, and that treatment is ongoing. Chris accepted the invitation to be the 2015 race chairman to bring attention to colorectal cancer screening and awareness, honor his late colleague and friend Jody Jividen, who passed away from colorectal cancer and pay tribute to CAMC’s Cancer Center staff.
