Course

The 5K race will begin at the Dickess tree farm and run from ridge to valley. Runners will proceed to main road and run slightly uphill until turning left on secondary road. Runners will proceed on secondary road for half mile until turning left and proceeding through the tree farm. The Dickess Memorial Scholarship Run takes place on a picturesque course where 50% of the course is conducted through wooded terrain. Fall foliage will be on display. Runners will encounter inclines and descents on the trail. The 10K course will be two laps of the 5K course.

Entry Fees

Entry fee for all participants runners is $20 until October 29th. Early entry fee will guarantee race shirt of requested size and bag. The first fifty participants to pre-register will receive complimentary running hat. We will try to accomodate all size requests for shirts but substitution may be necessary for late fee registrants. Late registration is $25 for all participants. There will be registration available on the morning of the race.

Age Groups

The race is divided into three age groups. The age groups are 18 and under/19-39/40 and over for both the 5K and 10K. The Children's Fun Run is open to children 12 and under.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top-3 winners for both men and women. There are three age groups; 18 and under, 19 to 39, 40 and over for both the 5K and 10K. Every finisher will receive a finishing medal. There will be 15 prizes randomly awarded. Names of winners will be posted on bulletin board. Winners can then select from available prizes. Race shirt and bag for every participant. Award for Cutest Couple (Dog and Owner). Award for Fastest Couple (Dog and Owner).

Food will be provided by VFW. Food will be Hamburgers/Hotdogs. Dogs are encouraged to participate but must be on leash. There will be hayrides and games for children. There will be a Children's Fun Run at no charge. The race will start and end at Dickess Tree Farm. The race will take place regardless of weather. All participants receive a race shirt and bag.
