Entry Fees

Free for all athletes. Participants can enter either two track and One Field OR two Field and One Track event up to and including the Sate Final. Please circle the events you wish to participate in at this meet. Please make note of your age as of December 31st 2011. Example; You might be 10 right now, but you turn 11 sometime before December 31st 2011. If so, you have to compete as an 11 year old.

Age Groups

Athletes ages 9-14 are welcome to compete. Ages are determined on December 31, 2011. Athletes must be born in the following years: - 1997 - 1998 - 1999 - 2000 - 2001 - 2002

Awards

NOT every winner in the State Final will automatically advance to the National Final due to the Geographical Distribution Rule which states that at least 5 participants from each State Youth Program will compete in the National Final. A Participant may enter only ONE Local and/or District Meet and live in the state where he/she participates.

Highlight of Rules 1. The only restriction for participation is age. A participant’s age is as of December 31st, 2011. 9-10 year old Born 2001-2002 11-12 year olds Born in 1999-2000 13-14 year olds Born in 1997-1998 A participant must compete in his/her age group and sex division. If you happen to sign up for wrong age group, the computer will automatically put you in the correct age group. 2. Participants who take part in Middle School or some High School track programs are eligible to participate in the Hershey Track & field Program as long the state athletic governing body does not prohibit participation. 3. Participants may NOT wear shoes designated for spikes. In field events, any shoes designed for turf sports are NOT allowed. 4. Participants may NOT compete in bare feet, slippers, or socks. 5. Starting blocks are NOT permitted. 6. A Participant may compete in only three events (this may be two running (includes relay) and a field event OR two field events and one running event). A participant may NOT compete in 3 running events. 7. A participant may be disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. He/She may not participate further in that meet and will lose any previous awards. 8. Times are recorded to the nearest 100th of a second and distances will be measured in feet and inches to the nearest ¼ inch. All finish line times are captured by FinishLynx Computerized timing system. 9. In case of ties in field events, the contestant with the 2nd best distance will be declared the winner. 10. Each running contestant is allowed one false start. 11. All local meet winners must have their age verified at the local level completion. 12. In the relay, the acceleration zone will NOT be used and aids may not be used. 13. A participant may enter only ONE local meet. 14. A participant must participate in the state in which he/she resides. 15. Only winners at the district meet advance to the state meet. 16. District and state meets will be held rain or shine. 17. There must be at least 5 participants & not more than 15 participants from each state in each region that qualifies for the North American Final Meet in Hershey, PA.
