Course

The Tutus for Tatas 5K: Run, Walk, Dance is a 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) course starting and ending at Adventures on the Gorge Resort in Lansing, WV.  Runners will race on the resort property, part on gravel and part off-trail.  Runners will start out in the parking lot Mill Creek Campus by the Rendezvous Lodge and continue through the woods on a marked trail. The course is both hilly and flat, and features a mulitple uphill and downhill sections.  The course is closed, well marked with cones and signage, and will be monitored by the race workers and volunteers.

Awards ceremony and door prizes will be presented following the race at Rendezvous Lodge. Live Music and libations will be provided following the race, join us for the celebration! Awards will be given to top three overall male and female, as well as the top three male and female in each age division. We will have random drawings for door prizes by bib numbers.

​Join us for a 5K in support of Breast Cancer!! We encourage you to wear your tutus or favorite retro 80s dance gear and run, walk, or dance your way through our 5K course at Adventures on the Gorge Resort in Lansing WV. #DareYoutoTutu

All profits will benefit both Karen Campbell's Breast Cancer fund and the Susan G Komen Foundation. Proceeds will be split according to amount of participants involved. Please invite all your friends!! For those of you that do not know Karen Campbell, there is a short paragraph about her below.

About Karen Campbell:

As some of you may or may not know Karen Campbell, my mother, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer a few weeks ago.

She just got her treatment plan from her oncologist and surgeon last week. She will begin chemotherapy in September before having surgery. As everyone reacts differently to chemo, we are unsure how this will effect her. Due to the nature of her job, being outside in the Florida heat and the strains of daily tasks of serving and bartending, she may be out of work without benefits for quite some time during this process. The chemo treatment will last 3-4 months before surgery.

We have created the Karing for Karen Breast Cancer Fund to help cover her cost of living and out of pocket medical costs she will incur. She is never one to ask for handouts from anyone, so we decided we would do it for her :) She has worked so hard her entire life to provide and support everyone around her, not only family. Please return the favor and help support her. She will begin her treatment in Florida, and will be away from her family for the most of it, so any emotional support and encouragement would also be greatly appreciated! She is a fighter and we know she will come out stronger than ever after this!
